Andrew has a decade of experience working in startups, most notably as head of marketing for the teams at Boxee(Internet TV) and Canary (smart home security). Having launched numerous products as a consultant prior to Boxee, he's seen the ups and downs of startup and small business life from almost every angle.
During his first career, Andrew successfully launched products in Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon, won multiple awards, produced marquee events with 800+ attendees, managed and ran teams at CES, and continually garnered press attention.
After working with Dan one-on-one to overcome stress related to launching a crowdfunded product that was delayed multiple times, he experienced a ground-breaking mental shift. It was profound enough for him to leave his career to study integrative hypnosis with NYC's best teacher, Melissa Tiers.
He has been a practicing hypnotherapist since Dec. 2014, specializing in issues related to high-stress workplaces.
Daniel has maintained private practice in New York City at the Center for Integrative Hypnosis since 2012. He received his undergraduate degree (BFA) from Emerson College where his research focused on literature, philosophy and sociology. He has received board certifications in hypnotherapy, regression therapy and neuro-linguisitic psychology. In 2011, he co-founded the Center for Integrative Healing in Chatham, NJ. He studied the philosophies of the East and West for 8 years in the ongoing program at the The School of Practical Philosophy in NYC. There he eventually became a Philosophy and Meditation instructor. Most recently Daniel has collaborated with The Lincoln Center Theater, Stella Adler School for Actors and Evolver Learning Lab.
Daniel has taught and studied alongside Melissa Tiers, author and founder of the Center for Integrative Hypnosis in New York City, Janet Cunningham Ph.D., author and President of the International Board for Regression Therapy and Margaret Davis; teacher, counselor and founder of BodyMind Wellness. He has also worked with Hans TenDam, former President of the European Association for Regression Therapy and head of the Tasso Institute in the Netherlands. Daniel inherited his passion for working with the mind and healing from his father, Dr. Jeffrey Ryan. Dr. Ryan was a clinical psychologist and instructor specializing in hypnosis and regression therapy. He was serving as the president of the International Association for Past-life Research and Therapies when he introduced Daniel to his work.
Blending practical wisdom and advanced therapeutic techniques.
In late 2014, I (Andrew) was struggling. After a decade of successfully launching new products/companies across the US, I hit a wall. I reached out for help, and was introduced to a hypnotherapist named Dan.
The day after my second session I walked into work and sat down at my desk. I felt lighter, as if I had taken off an 80 lb backpack of stress & heavy emotions. After months, I was able to laugh with co-workers, focus and feel optimistic.
Discovering this new tool to "hack" my brain, I continued seeing Dan to work on motivation, concentration, time management, and positivity. As sessions continued, I became fascinated by the “change work” we were doing. I left my job, began studying different therapeutic techniques and learning about the brain, coaching, and meditation. It felt like the right path.
After years of accepting my struggles as simply part of me or part of work, I discovered another way. I wanted to bring these ideas & techniques into other workplaces and show people that relaxation, ease and positive states are always available, even in high pressure situations.
So, Dan & I created Interrupt.
